The Real Deal

At the end of Romans 8, the apostle Paul lays it all out in no uncertain terms. He makes it as clear as he can with soaring language and hyperbolic descriptions: God has a plan for your eternal salvation and no third-party is going to mess it up.

This world drags us down. Disciples of Christ face hardships and endure suffering just like everybody else. We can feel lost and isolated, wounded and in distress. It’s hard. The accuser keeps coming after us and, let’s face it, he’s right most of the time. We are guilty.

But this beautiful passage reminds us of what’s real. This is about our confidence in our standing with God, about the certainty of our forgiveness and righteousness in Christ. God has rendered his verdict and it cannot be overturned. There is no condemnation, and nothing can ever separate us from our loving God.

Please read Romans 8:28-39. Read it a couple of times this week. Let the words soak into your soul. Then join us at 10:15 this Sunday morning April 6 as we consider together this Core Scripture and the real deal between you and our Lord.
