Many Christians believe baptism is simply an outward sign of a salvation that’s already been received. Others believe it’s a necessary command that legally divides those heading to heaven from those going to hell. Of course, it’s much more than a sign or a symbol. And it should never be reduced to some line-in-the-sand technical requirement.
It’s both. And it’s more.

When the apostle Paul considers the power of our God and the love of Christ, he drops to his knees. Knowing what our Father has done to defeat the rulers and authorities opposed to our salvation, knowing the love of our Lord Jesus that paves the way for our forgiveness and restoration, compels Paul to fall to his knees in prayer. And what a prayer it is!
